What’s in Season in Ontario?

by Audrey

Get the best of Ontario’s 4 seasons ! See what’s in season year-round and plan your shopping lists and recipes to suit.

Local seasonal shopping, cooking and eating goes beyond flavor; it is a positive and accessible reality for all, especially in vibrant Ontario. Buying local seasonal produce reduces our carbon footprint, helps local economies, and results in fresher, healthier produce picks, and therefore, tastier recipes.  The Niagara Region is a real food’s lovers wonderland. Keep track of what’s seasonal near you, go meet the talented local producers, feel that connection with where your food comes from, and don’t be afraid to try new things !

This Seasonal Calendar has been designed focusing on the Niagara Region in Southern Ontario. So keep in mind that dates are approximate depending on your location within the province, and Mother Nature.  Here and there, you can click on the produce to get a delicious and seasonal recipe (I will add more links as the months and seasons unfold…).
